I've used other snap fastening kits in the past. When I purchased these, it was because I needed more than the 6 pair set you can get at the hardware store. It made sense to buy in bulk since the more bulk you buy of something, the cheaper it gets. So far I've used about 40 of these buttons where about 10 of them have bent upon assembly. Here's what I've found-CONS: While they do their intended job, I will state that it's very easy using the tools provided to bend the buttons in a way that they cannot close. Bending them back with a set of needle nose pliers can help, but these buttons are made of weaker metal than ones I've used before so they're more flimsy and susceptible to bending. There's a fine line for operator error to getting these buttons hammered together just right. If you don't get it right, they will bend- guaranteed. When you do bend one to the point it's unusable, you'll need a drill so you can drill through the button and disassemble it to work with a new button. It can be laborious, but not such a big deal if you're handy.PROS: I made sure to count these upon receipt because you never know if you're going to be sent the correct amount. Once I counted 100 sets, I quit counting and realized they sent about 15-20 extra sets, which helps. The parts that don't bend, so far seem to work out just fine and do their intended job. The gunmetal color is especially cool and they look much better than a standard chrome button depending on what you're affixing them to.In the future, I will seek out another allotment of 100, but may very well return to purchasing these again based on what I find. Although, half inch seems a tad too small and I think I'll seek out 5/8" buttons next time.Hope this review helps!haven't used a bunch. rivets need to be perfectly centered for good application
